What's new in version 9.4
New Features
- Nord Sample Library support. Discovery Pro reads .nsmp, .nsmp3 and .nsmp4 samples across all four codec generations, including the legacy layout used by the oldest libraries, plus Nord bundles and instrument backups (.nw2pbundle, .ns4b and the other .n bundle and backup archives), which are unpacked on drop. Includes Nord Sound Manager folder scan.
- Export Wave Slot to Nord, in the File menu, writes the loaded wave slot (WAV, SFZ program, PADsynth render or DWB patch) as .nsmp4, .nsmp3 or .nsmp, with key range, root, fine tune, level and loop. Available in the demo.
- Nord Sound Manager cache banks. Its offline cache is listed in the wave bank menu, grouped by the catalog's own banks, on macOS and Windows.
- Bank labels show the bank type: Bnk, Cor, Bls, SFZ, Wav or Nrd based on the location.
- Wave Stereo Engine. Stereo waves keep both channels instead of being summed to mono, so Bliss, Nord, WAV and SF2 sounds hold their stereo image. Each voice runs its own filter and distortion per channel, while envelopes, followers, cutoff and LFOs stay shared. New banks are stereo. Existing banks and projects stay on the mono mix and sound exactly as before: switch a bank over with Wave Stereo Engine in the wave popup menu.
Improvements
- New MIDI boards for Nord Stage 3 and Nord Stage 4. The Nord Lead 1, Nord Lead 4 and Nord Wave 2 boards were rebuilt from the factory CC charts.

I'm thoroughly chuffed with Discovery Pro 8. Its sound quality is top-notch, brimming with richness and clarity. The support for WAV files and nifty resampling features are quite the boon for creative sound design. Impressively, I can easily run up to 128 voices per core on my M1 Mac Studio and the extensive library of presets caters brilliantly to any genre. It's becoming an indispensable asset in my studio.

Discovery was ones a very good vsti plugin. It sounds great and emulates the Nord Lead synths nicely but sadly it cannot cope with the rest of the bunch nowadays.
There are now definitely much better alternatives (read: way way way better) and much cheaper too.
On a side note: Discovery also requires much more CPU power compared to others. Some sounds even bog my i7 at 80%.
I suggest looking at D16 Lush101 synth. It is cheaper and produces incredible sounds (better compared to Discovery).
Conclusion: first look at all the (free and payed) alternatives before paying for this.

About twenty years ago I owned a original Nord Lead 1
It was a great VA-synth that sounded really analog enough to fool many ears.
NL2 and most certainly NL3 aren't very good imo and so is this VST plugin. It just sounds too digital to me.
For me there is only one really good VST plugin doing incredibly analog emulations : B16 Lush101
Its less expensive then Discovery Pro and way better sounding.

Very good vsti but too expensive.
I like the Nord Lead patch import. Please consider a lower price.

Come on guys, it's not shareware when it's nearly $200!
Next you'll be claiming Office or Photoshop is shareware too!
It's commercial software & should be listed as such.
